Tegnestuen Vandkunsten is a Danish architecture firm which has been focusing primarily on residential architecture for 40+ years. They have been integrating ideas of communality, convertibility and sustainable development into their work for many years. The firm was a pioneer in developing socially and environmentally aware architecture, which was widely emulated. Tegnestuen Vandkunsten has recently been awarded with the 10th Alvar Aalto Medal marking the occasion as a first because of the fact it was given to a team, oppose to an individual.
