With the year coming to an end, we must recognize some of the impressive, colossal architectural constructions of 2008. It is simply amazing how such powerful, ingenious minds can come together and plan out the blueprints of constructions that are to last decades standing upright like the Mayan, Aztec or Egyptian Pyramids have. Of course, the credits are mutually divided between the architects, contractors and construction workers. Besides the main purpose of the constructions, these landmarks are made with the contemplation of later in the future being looked at as more than just buildings. To come to a conclusion with the description that is always meant to be brief, here are our TOP 5 Architectural Projects of 2008.
1. The Beijing National Stadium by Herzog & de Meuron
2. China's Central TV Headquarters by Oma
3. The 'Westside Project' by Daniel Libeskind
4. Beijing Terminal 3 by Foster + partners
5. The Art Gallery of Ontario by Frank Gehry
